Jonathan Escoto Brown is a composer and guitarist of British-Filipino heritage from Birmingham, UK.

Jonathan composed the original score for “DOG RUN,” winner of the Grand Prize Award at the Oscar qualifying, 41st Flickers’ Rhode Island Film Festival. For his work on the film, Jonathan received a nomination for the Crystal Pine Award for Best Original Score for Short Film at the International Sound and Film Music Festival 2023, and was long-listed at the British Short Film Awards 2023 in the same category.

Jonathan’s recent credits include the original score for comedy short, CODE/SWITCH, selected at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival (2025), and TO DISAPPEAR SUDDENLY, produced by Split Second Films, currently in post-production.  

Alongside his work as a composer, Jonathan is an experienced guitarist and musician and is highly regarded in the UK’s jazz and reggae scenes. His recent performance credits include the Havana International Jazz Festival 2025 with Grammy award-winning percussionist, Lekan Babalola.
